What it is
The MiniFlex is a compact sewer camera from Camtronics built for everyday inspections, offered in two versions: the MiniFlex Cam19 for 1-1/2"–4" lines and the MiniFlex Cam36 for 2"–8" lines.
Both are built on the same pipe inspection camera platform — the same case, tilting 8" touchscreen and 512 Hz locating sonde. What changes is the camera head and push cable — the Cam19 is a micro camera that prioritizes smaller pipe and threads tight, multi-bend fixture lines, and the Cam36 is a mini mainline camera for building drains and laterals. The case is shaped like a briefcase, so it rides in the truck standing up and comes out ready to go.
Cam19 or Cam36?
Start with the pipe you run into most. The Cam19 is a micro camera that prioritizes smaller pipe — it's at its best from 1-1/2" to 3". It will go into 3"–4" line, but that isn't where it shines. The Cam36 fills that gap: it's at its best from 3" to 6" and can go up to 8". It only fits a clean 2" line.

What makes it different
Takes the turns
A patented flexible cable-head joint lets the camera bend through up to eight 90° fittings instead of hanging up at the first one. On the Cam19, that's what gets you through most toilets.
A rounded bullet head
The spherical camera housing rides over joints and offsets rather than catching on them, so you get further down the line on one push — and fewer calls that end in a dig to find out what's wrong.
Locate it from above
A 512 Hz sonde is built into the camera head. Stop at the problem, pick it up with your locator, and mark the spot on the surface for a precise repair.
Record, note and hand it over
Capture photos and video to an SD card on the tilting 8" touchscreen and add a note to each recording. A USB-A adapter is included for easy transfer, or pop the card into an SD card reader for your phone (not included) and send the footage to your customer on the spot.
Made to be carried every day
Everything lives inside one flat, briefcase-style case with corner bumpers. It stands in the truck without a dedicated shelf, and its light weight makes it easier to walk through a customer's home without bumping walls.
Fix it yourself, keep working
The MiniFlex is modular, so many common repairs are part swaps you can do in the shop. Less downtime waiting on a camera means more jobs on the board.
Battery or AC
Run a full day on the Li-ion battery — up to 7 hours — or plug it in to AC when there's an outlet nearby. No dead-camera surprises halfway through a job.
Skids that let go
The skids have a split release. If the camera hangs up on a problem in the pipe, a hard pull can release the skid and give you a better chance of getting your camera head back. That's a real advantage in lines with channel rot or broken pipe — it's not a guarantee, and it depends on the job.
Built for the truck, not the shelf
Camtronics designed the MiniFlex alongside plumbers and drain cleaners who run a drain camera every day, and it shows in how it travels and how it holds up. The unit is rated IP65 with a water-resistant housing, and the camera and cable are waterproof to 43.5 psi.

How it works
Set it down and power on
Lift the case out of the truck, tilt up the screen and switch on. There's no separate monitor or cable reel to connect.
Feed the line
Push the cable through the cleanout or fixture. The flexible head guides itself around the bends while you watch the live image.
Find and locate
Stop at what you find, then trace the 512 Hz sonde with your locator to mark the exact spot and depth on the surface.
Record and share
Save photos and video to SD card with notes, then transfer them so the customer can see the problem for themselves.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between the MiniFlex Cam19 and Cam36?
They share the same case, 8" touchscreen, 512 Hz sonde and battery. The Cam19 is a micro camera with a thinner 7/32"(5.5mm) push cable that prioritizes smaller pipe — best from 1-1/2" to 3", with reach up to 4" — and goes through most toilets. The Cam36 is a mini mainline camera with a 17/64"(6.7mm) cable, best from 3" to 6" and able to go up to 8", and adds a self-leveling image, a slope angle meter and a wider 130° view.
Which MiniFlex should I get for descaling cast iron?
The Cam36. It covers 2"–8", which matches the full range of lines you'll be descaling, and the self-leveling image makes it easier to judge the pipe wall before and after you run a chain.
What size pipe can the MiniFlex inspect?
The Cam19 is at its best in smaller pipe, 1-1/2" to 3". It will go into 3"–4" line, but that isn't its strength. The Cam36 fills that gap: it's at its best from 3" to 6" and can go up to 8", but it only fits a clean 2" line. If most of your work is 3" and under, go Cam19; 3" and up, go Cam36.
How many bends can it get through?
Up to eight 90° bends. The patented flexible joint between the cable and camera head is what lets it turn tight fittings instead of stalling at the first one.
Can the MiniFlex go through a toilet?
The Cam19 goes through most toilets. Its smaller head and flexible joint let you inspect the line without pulling the fixture in most cases.
Does the MiniFlex have a locating sonde?
Yes. Both models have a 512 Hz sonde built into the camera head, which works with any locator that reads 512 Hz.
How do I record and share the inspection?
Everything records to an SD card right from the touchscreen, and you can add a note to each recording. The camera includes a USB-A adapter for easy transfer. For even faster sharing, use an SD card reader made for your phone (not included) and send the footage straight to your customer.
Does it run on battery or AC?
Both. The Li-ion battery runs up to 7 hours, enough for a full day of typical service calls, and you can plug it in to AC when there's an outlet handy.
What happens if the camera gets stuck in the pipe?
The skids use a split release mechanism. Pull hard enough and the skid lets go, which can free the camera head from a snag. It's a big help in lines with channel rot or broken pipe, but it can't guarantee the camera comes back — that depends on the job.
Is the MiniFlex waterproof?
The unit is rated IP65, and the camera head and push cable are waterproof to 43.5 psi.
Can I repair the MiniFlex myself?

As long as we have the parts in stock, we normally ship the same day or the following day. Larger items that require freight shipping can take a little longer.
